Prof. Dr. Jürgen Ringbeck

After a first carrier in academia Jürgen Ringbeck spent most of his professional career in top management consulting. As a partner at McKinsey & Company in Dusseldorf he lead its German Transportation Practice (1993-2001). In 2001, Jürgen Ringbeck joint Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) where he became global leader of its Transportation Practice. In addition to other management tasks he was a member of the Board of Directors of BAH (2002-2005). In April 2014, Prof. Ringbeck founded Ricon GmbH thereby acting as an active strategic investor.
Prof. Ringbeck is an international advocate of sustainable transportation and energy development. As an international consultant he has made essential contributions to the sustainable transformation of globally leading travel and logistics companies, and supported several governments in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In addition, Prof. Ringbeck can look back on long-term engagements as strategic advisor to the World Economic Forum and the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). He acts as a board member of Aireg (Aviation initiative for renewable energy) and is an active investor in sustainable mobility start-ups.
As a honorary professor at WHU (Otto Beisheim School of Management) Prof. Ringbeck teaches and researches in the fields of transportation management, digital business transformation and consulting management.
Prof. Ringbeck holds a diploma in Mathematics from the University of Münster and obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Osnabrück, Germany. Prof. Ringbeck has received several international awards for his scientific work from major institutions, including the Marketing Science Institute at MIT (Cambridge, USA) and the Government of Canada.
